Notice of Public Hearing

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
FOR ISSUANCE OF qualified 501(c)(3) BONDS
BY THE WASHINGTON HEALTH CARE FACILITIES AUTHORITY

The Washington Health Care Facilities Authority (the “Authority”) will hold a public hearing using a toll-free telephone number at the date and time designated below regarding the proposed issuance by the Authority of one or more series of its qualified 501(c)(3) bonds, as defined in Section 145 of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended (the “Code”), for health care facilities, in an original aggregate principal amount not-to-exceed $23,000,000 (the “Bonds”).  The proceeds of the Bonds will be loaned to Community Health Care (the “Borrower”), a Washington nonprofit corporation and a “501(c)(3) organization” (as defined in the Code), for the purpose of providing all or part of the funds necessary to:

(i) refund all or a portion of the Authority’s Revenue Bond, Series 2016 (Community Health Care), which financed and refinanced the costs of the acquisition, construction, renovation, equipping and/or remodeling of health care facilities owned and operated by the Borrower, located at 1102 South “I” Street, Tacoma, 10510 Gravelly Lake Drive SW, Lakewood, 134 188th Street South, Spanaway, 1202 Martin Luther King Jr. Way, Tacoma and 1148 Broadway, Suite 100, Tacoma; and

(ii) finance, including reimburse for, and refinance a portion of the costs of the acquisition, renovation and equipping of a health center and parking garage to be owned and operated by the Borrower and located at the addresses listed below in an amount not-to-exceed $21,000,000:

  • 201 W Main Street, Puyallup
  • 111 W Main Street, Puyallup

The health care facilities described above are all located in the State of Washington.

A public hearing with respect to the proposed issuance of the Bonds will be held at 10:00 a.m. on January 6, 2022.  In light of the COVID-19 public health crises, such public hearing is being conducted remotely, through the use of a telephone conference.  All interested persons are invited to listen to, and participate in, the public hearing by calling into the teleconference using the toll-free number 1-855-929-3239 and entering conference code 3720 2330#.  In order to facilitate registration of participants to the teleconference, it is requested that such persons call the above number no later than 9:55 a.m. (5 minutes before start time).  Written comments can be submitted to the Authority via email at shannong@whcfa.wa.gov, no later than 9:30 a.m. (30 minutes before start time) on the date of the public hearing.
